With Crime Stopper, witness tips are recorded at a local police department, sheriff’s office or other facility – a school or airport’s security office, for instance – and instant text and email alerts are sent to duty personnel who listen to the tip and take appropriate action in real-time. As soon as the citizen leaves their tip and hangs up, the predetermined officer or agency staff member receives an email or text alert indicating a tip was called in, to which they can begin listening to it in seconds via email attachment or by calling into the system and logging in via tip review mode.

It simply connects to a law enforcement office pc’s USB port, and to one or more phone lines, and its control software is installed on that pc.
